GMP Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client in Milton Keynes who are a hugely successful, national component distributor and engineering specialist within the automation industry. They are currently recruiting for an E-Learning Support Engineer to join their ever growing organisation on a full time, permanent contract.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate previous experience in an Engineering discipline and will work closely with engineering specialists to take responsibility for converting the information into the e-learning training modules, which will be utilised for internal staff, customers and distributers.

As Engineering Support, you will support the Engineering sections in creating technical training modules, so it is vital that you are technically minded with a general interest in Engineering, ideally with an HNC in engineering.

Technical Support Engineer main duties:

* Building and creation of e-learning modules based on information generated by Engineers from both the European and Japanese Technical Centres. (Editing powerpoint presentations specifically created for e-learning)

* Proof reading slides and generally improving the quality of images or graphic media. Adding animations to improve the presentation.

* Editing notes in powerpoint to make them suitable for narrations.

* Creating voice-overs with text-to-speech software.

Technical Support Engineer desired skills and experience:

* Good communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to work in a team.

* Excellent attention to detail, perseverance and flexibility

* Previous experience of e-learning training

* Computer literate

* Ideally an HNC in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)

* A background in Engineering

* Technically minded, with a general interest in Engineering

Software Requirements:

* MS office (specifically Powerpoint) essential

Desirable but can provide training:

* Articulate Studio13 and Studio360 desirable, but not essential.

* PaintShop Pro8 or similar digital art software

* Text-to-speech software

* Audio editing software

* SCORM (Shareable content object reference model) file management

The Technical Support Engineer position can offer a basic salary of up to £25K pending experience, plus fantastic fringe benefits including health insurance, pension contribution, gym membership and retail discounts to name a few.
