Development Executive – Placemaking

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum

Join a small specialist team of dynamic and experienced property professionals charged with driving development of its significant land holdings and helping to deliver revival through its strategic sites!

Our client has been tasked with the management and development of a substantial land purchase from the Homes and Communities Agency in January 2013. The company has an entrepreneurial approach to deliver the long term economic value and social benefit to the region.

The main purpose of the job is to support the Special Projects Director and play a large part in the promotion of the estate, placemaking, project management and delivery of development land led projects.

The role holder will be expected to manage activities that support the delivery of the Business Plan and will be required to engage with the private and public sectors, as well as third party organisations and stakeholders.

The role incorporates a broad range of activities such as, the preparation of development briefs, public/private consultations, project management related to commercial and residential land development and the management of external consultants and internal MKC service teams, as required.

Person Specification

Experience

Urban Design experience, ideally from a client side (including management of consultants) perspective.
Professionally qualified in a land and property (surveying, planning, architecture or similar) related discipline is preferred but not essential.
Ability to successfully deliver project work.
Practical experience of working within a variety of disciplines including for example, planning and development, urban design and placemaking.

Skills and Knowledge

An awareness and understanding of working within a political environment.
An ability to work well proactively within a collaborative team structure.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
