Job title: Development and Reliability Engineer
Location: High Wycombe/ Field based
Salary: Up to c£48,400 pa. Up to £44,000 per annum + annual up to 10% annual + vehicle + pension + other benefits
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading name within the coffee industry as we are seeking a Development and Reliability Engineer to be field/ High Wycombe based. Salary up to c£48,400 pa. Up to £44,000 basic per annum + annual up to 10% annual + vehicle + pension + other benefits
Requirement
Develop the capability and reliability of products whilst reducing the capital cost through:
• Collaborating with Platform to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new propositions
• Contributing to the technical design, development, and test of concessions and associated peripheral equipment
• Defining, performing, and documenting the test of machine software, components, and concessions. Pro-actively proposing fixes for technical issues based on robust logic and validating performance through re-test
• Defining, launching, monitoring, and reporting on appropriate field trials to verify and validate new designs and changes to designs
• Proposing and evaluating innovative opportunities to improve the customer and consumer experience
• Developing engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other issues that affect operations and customer experience.
• Optimising in-service machine reliability through proactively identifying and mitigating any potential failures
• Providing Technical Support to Field Operations, Training and helping personnel
• Developing and maintaining internal and external stakeholder relationships
Design and Development
• Working with Line Management to manage and maintain an action log, agreeing priorities and delivery dates with stakeholders
• Improving the reliability of all concessions through driving Continuous Improvement activities
• Contributing to the development of existing concessions
• Pro-actively suggesting opportunities for capital cost reduction and/or reductions in cost per cup
• Fabricating prototypes to test concepts following the Change Control process for implementation and embodiment of changes to build standard
Test
• Working with Line Management to manage and maintain an action log, agreeing priorities and delivery dates with customers
• Identifying appropriate tests to verify and validate new designs and changes to designs (scale, parameters to monitor, frequency of monitoring, duration of test)
• Performing tests covering all machines in CE portfolio as required, including hardware, software, GUI, telemetry, mechanical, payment systems, drinks menu, etc.
• Pro-actively making recommendations for development and further test, following initial assessment
• Following the Change Control process for implementation and embodiment of changes to build standard
Field Trials
• Working with Line Management to manage and maintain an action log, agreeing priorities and delivery dates with customers
• Defining appropriate field trials to verify and validate new designs and changes to designs (scale, parameters to monitor, frequency of monitoring, duration of trial)
• Supporting field trials at customer and/or partners premises, as required
• Following the Change Control process for implementation and embodiment of changes to build standard
Innovation & Insight
• Propose and evaluate innovation opportunities to improve the customer experience. e.g., speed of drinks dispenses
• Pro-actively offering new technologies and solutions to technical issues
• Working with suppliers and partners to enable innovation to be implemented
• Investigating quality issues and implementing mitigations and fixes
• Working with Original Equipment Manufacturers and Platform to ensure that the Machines Performance at optimal level
