My client is a supplier of market-leading electronic devices to a range of industries.
Continued growth has created this new role which supports the Product Design Team made up of mostly Electronics Engineers and a couple of Mechanical Engineers. In support of these Engineers, a Design Support Technician is required to undertake a broad range of activities. An interesting blend of administration and practical, hands-on activities.
Activities include: building prototypes for testing, maintaining and updating component databases, obsolete part list (and suitable alternatives), assisting purchasing with part details for orders, liaising with design, production and purchasing over changes and involvement in product testing, certification and safety assessment. You may also undertake modifications to CAD drawings and associated data packages.
Educated to at least A Level in a STEM subject, you will demonstrate some experience in a similar role and be comfortable using computer-based tools, especially Excel.
This role may appeal to a recent STEM Graduate seeking an entry and subsequent career development. At the other extreme, it may appeal to a school-leaver with a passion for engineering, who wishes to join an exciting engineering business at a time of significant growth.
