My client is an established manufacturer who supply equipment predominantly to the IT and communications sectors. This is a stable business who have an excellent track record in their chosen field and are going from strength to strength.

Job Description

The company is looking to employ a DESIGN DRAFTSMAN to join the company's internal mechanical design team.

Working within a team of experienced engineers your prime responsibilities will be to support the team in making changes to existing drawings, produce BOMs for specific projects, create new drawings and product rendering for the company's marketing publications and training manuals. Much of the work involves designing for fabrication utilising sheet materials so any experience in this sector would be a distinct advantage.

This company utilises SOLIDWORKS as the primary design package so they will be looking for an engineer who is a competent user of this package as well as being comfortable with MS office products (including teams). If you have used MS Dynamics GP and Sharepoint software this would be a distinct advantage.

The role can be quite demanding as part of the role will be to produce drawings for the sales team for their bids and proposals so you will have to be comfortable with working to deadlines and changing priorities relating to the company's client SLA's (Service Level Agreements)

The role could give a newly qualified engineer with the right education invaluable experience in a commercial design office, or be an excellent opportunity for an existing engineer to develop knowledge of a different sector of the market and the opportunity to develop skills to utilise in their career.

To be considered you will need to demonstrate:

* A recognised qualification in mechanical engineering or similar with a focus on design

* 12 months experience in a similar post

* Experience in Solidworks or similar 3D CAD package (portfolio required)

* Good knowledge of MS Office products including Excel
