This client has worldwide expertise in developing integrated packaging solutions and have done so for more than 90 years ! They have strong global partnerships and have built a reputation for providing innovative and creative solutions to some of the largest names in the Diary and Beverage industry as well as Food, Pharmaceutical and Personal Care.

They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Control Engineer to join the company in a period of growth and following an exciting rebranding exercise. The successful candidate will have a background of PLC/HMI control systems incorporating Siemens S7 and/or Rockwell Controllogix. Experience of servo drive applications and motion control would be highly desirable.

The Controls Engineer must be capable of writing PLC code in various IEC61131 languages with knowledge of bespoke automation machinery, including the use of electromechanical mechanisms, pneumatics and servo operation. You should be multi-skilled and be able to design electrical circuits and follow the machine through to PLC commissioning and final installation on-site.

Key responsibilities:

* The successful design and development of new products

* Travel both in the UK and overseas to customer site as required (1 week/5 times per year)

* Conceptual design, detailing, prototyping, testing and documentation for new machines including manuals

* Carry out all electrical engineering design and software development

* Completion of the FAT documentation and ‘as-built’ electrical documentation

* Carry out installation, commissioning and troubling shooting visits at customer sites world-wide when required

An independent, proactive and organised Engineer is required with excellent attention to detail. A dependable and flexible team player with flexibility to travel with ambition and capability of handling multiple projects.

The role is based in Home Counties commutable from Bedford, Milton Keynes, Bletchley, Northampton or Luton
