Control System Design Engineer – Milton Keynes – £28,000 to £33,000 – Plus Holiday & Benefits
Melbreck Technical are working with a leading designer and manufacturer of specialist equipment for a variety of industries.
Due to new products and projects coming to fruition they are looking to expand their technical capability and looking to hire a Control Systems Engineer to join their business ASAP.
Control System Design Engineer – Role Overview:
Specify the design of control systems based on specifications.
Manage the requirements of all stakeholders to ensure a cost effective, reliable, and safe design.
Develop control systems from initial concepts through to fully implemented, tested and proven production solutions.
Support the design of control systems from initial prototype through to production.
Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Interface with other areas of the Engineering function to ensure the efficient integration of the control system.
Liaise with Purchasing and suppliers in order to specify components.
Liaise with Production to ensure design feasibility.
Manage project work and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Control System Design Engineer – Job Holder Specification:
In addition to a strong engineering background, the ideal candidate will have:
A Degree in a field relevant to electronics and control (candidates without a degree will be considered if they can demonstrate extensive and relevant industry experience).
At least 3 years’ experience in a relevant role.
Experience in control system development for complex systems.
Knowledge of PLC logic and programming (knowledge of programming using CoDeSys would be advantageous but not essential, especially using FBD ‘Functional Block Diagram’ and ST ‘Structured Text’ languages).
Strong problem-solving ability.
Excellent communication skills.
