An exciting fresh new opening for a Compliance Engineer looking for a challenging career where they can develop and progress with a leading multinational engineering company who currently design and develop futuristic factory automation products for covering various industries including: Automotive, Scientific, Renewable Energy, Space, Medical, Food Processing and Consumer Products.
Location: Milton Keynes & Home Based (flexible)
Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 – depending on experience, superb career and technical progression available, Bonus Scheme, Pension, Private Medical Insurance, 25 days holiday, sports and social club and subsidised canteen, company car, mobile phone.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Compliance Engineer
The objective of the role is to support the work of the Principal Compliance engineer in providing product compliance documentation for the company's products sold into Europe. Activities will depend on the circumstances at the time and are given as an example only.
Monitoring EC Directives & UK CA SI covering – EMC, LVD, ATEX, PED, REACH, RoHS, MD for updates and changes.
Monitoring the EU Official Journal / UK Government websites for changes and updates to Directives, Regulations and Harmonised Standards.
Working with the engineers in the company's technical centre and other worldwide sites to ensure that all product documentation such as Declarations of Conformity, Technical Files, manuals etc, are kept complete and up to date.
Working on the technical centres' “green team” activities for example responding to customer requests for compliance data.
Qualifications and skills required for the Compliance Engineer
A degree BSc, BEng. Masters, MSc in Mechanical Engineering, 2:1 or better.
A good understanding of CE marking
Experience of Project management and technical report writing
Excellent communication skills and spoken and written English
Desirable skills (but not essential):
Previous experience of CE marking
Previous experience of working in a manufacturing company – preferably design.
Experience of working with test houses or notified bodies
