Contek are working with a precision engineering Client in Buckinghamshire who produce complex components for various sectors including Automotive, Defence, Hydraulics and Catering equipment.

As a 5 Axis Programmer/Setter you will be part of a growing business that employs an ethos of continuous improvement for their employees and the wider organisation.

Dayshift – 40-60hrs per week (Lots of Overtime opportunities)

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing consistent offline programs using industry leading Hypermill CAM software, setting and operating state of the art 5 Axis machining centres controlled by Mazatrol systems.

Principle Accountabilities:

* Produce offline programs and manufacture high quality components to customer supplied drawings and CAD models.

* Maintain program and tooling records for all components produced.

* Liaising with the management and production engineers to maximise the efficient running of the machine tools.

* Responsible for the cleanliness and housekeeping in the workplace.

* To be aware of health and safety legislation as it applies in the workplace.

* In addition to these functions, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required.

The Candidate:

Preferred but not essential.

* CAM Programming experience using Hypermill (Must)

* Experience of work holding best practices.

* Apprentice served Mechanical Engineer.

* A broad understanding of metallic materials and their associated behaviours.

* Good knowledge on various manufacturing processes.

* Fully conversant in reading Engineering & Manufacturing Drawings including geometrical tolerances.

* Awareness of working Quality standards.
