CNC Programmer, what does that mean in your current company? Is it selecting someone else’s second hand programs, using their tooling and their strategy? Even if not and you’re just up for a change, how would deciding on your own strategies and doing some proper engineering sound within an F1 environment? Well I have the answers to your dreams….well work ones anyway!
The company
They are a small sub con, who work in partnership with an F1 team, they have a small team of elite engineers with top of the range 5 axis machines. Their workshop has been recently fitted out so you can expect an F1 level work area and a great team atmosphere to work alongside and one where the MD’s door is always open.
The Job
This is a standalone role where you will be given Autonomy to make decisions, so naturally with that responsibility you must be credible. You will be in daily contact with the machinist’s that are running the programs so being on hand to answer any questions will be a given. On a daily basis you can expect to be defining the manufacturing strategy for a variety of components working with aerospace grade materials including Titanium, Inconel, Aluminium and Steel whilst engaging closely with the Machine Shop team to optimise each manufacturing process.
Experience
As this is a stand alone position we are looking for an extremely competent Programmer, they do us NX CAM software but if someone did have some strong experience but without NX that is something they may consider. Someone who is engineering savvy, who can produce custom fixturing and must have detailed knowledge of cutting parameters and optimisation across a wide range of materials will thrive in this environment.
