Job Purpose

Programming CNC machines to facilitate the manufacture of Production Tooling and Trimming of aluminum/zinc components. Updating existing production programs. Liaise with Operations and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure the release of programs are prioritized in line with operational requirements.

Key Accountabilities – or “What you have to do”

* Producing Procedures and Work Instructions

* Assist in the training of manufacturing personnel

* Specifying and develop all fixtures, gauging and software

* Specify machine set-up programmes

* CNC programming on Fanuc language

* Setting machines and prove programs

* Improve process cycle times

* Improve machine and tools life cycle

* Implement Lean principals

Qualifications/Experience/Technical Skills

Understanding of component manufacturing time and cost

Essential

* CNC mill operation & programming

* CNC mill TPM

* Optimisation of CNC cycle times for a production environment

* Writing of Setting and Operator instruction/procedure documentation

* Tool-life management

* Experience in operating (programming advantageous) CMM coordinate measuring machine

* Have a good understanding and knowledge in designing and making Dies/press tools

* 5 years’ experience with programming in Fanuc Language

* Developing and understanding technical drawings

* Experience with 4 axis machines

* Offline and online programming for CNC milling & lathe

Advantageous

* Conventional/manual machines like Lath, Milling Surface Grinder, Cylindrical Grinder, & Hydraulic Drill, Boring, Tool & Cutter universal grinder

* Ability to use CAD/CAM
