Full Job DescriptionKAP Technical are working with a client who specialises in the manufacturing service for corporations spanning multiple industries worldwide including Railway, Automotive, Aerospace, Construction, MOD & Security, Industrial, Marine and Power.
Due to an increasing in customer demands and plans to expand our client’s business
we are looking for a Miller/Turner/Fabricator
You will be responsible for the online programming of milling and turning work in our small machine shop. As well as carrying out other daily tasks in our sheet metal and fabrication areas.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to assist in the development of machining and turning sections, as well having the desire and potentially to add to their skill set by acquiring knowledge of CNC tube manipulation, laser cutting etc.

Experience
* Knowledge of programming both CNC Milling and Turning Experience using Siemens controls or similar from engineering drawings to tight tolerances.
* The ability to set all types of cutting tools.
* Ideally qualified, with at least 3 years of Manufacturing/Production experience in a Precision engineering environment.
* Knowledge of sheet metal fabrications and forming would be advantageous but not essential
* Able to determine all manufacturing processes required to Machine, Turn, Fabricate the product.
Responsibilities
* Online programming of 3 axis CNC Milling Machines and Turning Centre
* Setting all cutting tools requirements
* Job estimating by determining manufacturing methods for new products.
* Look to reduce time in set ups and running times.
* Challenge current methods and processes to improve on cost, quality and time taken.
* Ensuring production documentation is detailed and accurate for staff to follow.
* Identify tools and techniques to achieve individual jobs.
Requirements
* Experience working with ISO 9000 Standards
* To be able to draw using Auto Cad/Solid Works or equivalent would be advantageous
* An understanding of fabrication, metal forming etc
* Must be able to read and interpret engineer’s drawings and specifications.
Salary negotiable dependant on experience
Hours of work: Mon – Thurs 8am – 5pm Fri – 8am – 2.30pm
