Chartered Structural Engineer – Bedfordshire
A well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy who are currently looking for a Chartered Structural Engineer to join their growing Engineering team.
This is a busy and varied role providing engineering design and consultancy services on a wide range of building structures' projects, primarily residential and commercial buildings in all forms of construction.
The Role:
– Responsible for managing projects and supporting Directors to achieve their objectives
– Undertaking of technical and feasibility studies including organising site investigations
– Use a range of software to develop detailed structural designs
– Liaise with clients and a variety of professionals including contractors and architects
– Preparation of contract documents and management of tenders
– Resolving design and development problems
– Management of budget and project resources
– Assessment of sustainability and environmental impact of projects
– Assisting director with training and development of the engineering team
– Inspection / Supervision of construction work on site under contract, preparation of interim and final accounts, claim and practical completion.
Requirements:
– Degree in Structural Engineering
– MICE/MIStructE Chartership
– Experience managing projects within the residential and commercial sectors
– Experience and extensive working knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural & planning practices and procedures
– Experience in negotiation, supervisory and leadership roles
– Experience in working to deadlines and within budgets on large scale projects
– Strong problem-solving skills
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
