Buyer – Milton Keynes – £28,000 to £32,000 – 25 days holiday – Pension + Benefits

Melbreck Technical is working with a leading designer and manufacturer of special purpose equipment, who are located in Milton Keynes and have been trading for over 35 years.

They are known in their industry for innovative and quality products that last, and they have won multiple prestigious awards.

Due to a very successful 2020, and a great start to 2021, they are looking to expand their Procurement and Supply Chain function and as such are looking to add a Buyer to their team ASAP.

Buyer – Role Overview and Responsibilities:

As a buyer, you will be responsible for managing and working with the business’s key suppliers.

Creation and management of cross functional commodity sourcing strategies which are designed to deliver a robust and sustainable supply base

Capacity and lead time analysis to ensure the current and future build requirements are

Management of all risk management activities, including supply contract agreements.

Driving and leading all cost disciplines across the company through early supplier engagement.

Lead the enquiry process to select and nominate suppliers through the review of capability, cost, quality and sustainability measures

Representing the Purchasing department in cross functional meetings, ensuring compliance to the purchasing processes ad recommending improvements to processes and ways of working to maximise effectiveness and efficiencies

Drive Cost Reduction activities

Buyer – Candidate Requirements

Experience of supplier management including supplier section, contract negotiations and supplier performance management

Experience of delivering against key metrics and business critical paths

Ability to communicate and influence a broad range of stakeholders

Fully conversant with MS Office software (e.g. complex Excel spreadsheets)

CIPS or equivalent recognised qualification

08.30 to 16.30 Monday to Friday
