Build Support Engineer – Milton Keynes – Contract (short term)

I am currently looking for a Build Support Engineer to be based in Milton Keynes to support and coordinate HV battery pack/controller build activities. The successful Build Support Engineer will be responsible for design and engineering work, as well as releasing components into launch.

Essential Experience:
* Previous experience building components
* Proficiency with Creo CAD modelling (solid/surface)
* Experience working in a launch/release environment
* Selection of mechanical components, suitable materials & joining technologies to meet system requirements

Desirable Experience:
* HV Electrical systems (battery packs and battery controllers, BEV and PHEV battery system) knowledge
* Wire harness routing knowledge would be beneficial
* DFM, DFA, static/dynamic loading, structural mechanics
* GD&T
* Problem Resolution Techniques (e.g – 8D, Six Sigma, etc)

Key responsibilities:
* Managing build manuals and updates
* Improvements to standard processes and manufacturing procedures
* Perform final checks to align with build reediness documentation to ensure the system has correct instrumentation and traceability
* Manage and release system level BOM's
* Communicate build related issues day to day basis and create deviations as agreed
* Coordinate build readiness meetings to ensure cross functional teams are aligned to meet overall program deliverables
* Coordinate issue resolution meetings with cross functional teams and implement changes in build accordingly.
* Support weekly ECN (Change review) meetings
