Our market leading materials handling client is looking for an experienced Automation Design Engineer/Manager to join their existing team. The opportunity requires UK wide travel with a focus on the Midlands and North West but as the role can be home based you can live anywhere in the UK.

Role Purpose:

* Design from concept to engineering of Automated Material Handling solutions

* Direct contribution to Divisional Sales

* Deliver a divisional sales target for the business unit

* Direct customer facing sales role

* Develop product sales opportunities

Responsibilities:

* Design and development of Automated Material Handling solutions including ASRS, AGV, Mini load, conveyors, WMS / WCS, and all associated equipment and solutions

* Working as part of the team to promote the business and secure annual targets

* Ongoing development of skills and competencies in the business

* Development of local customer bases throughout the UK

* Assist in the training of the sales team

* Technical support for the business for the UK market

* Liaison with UK and European Suppliers

* Processing, Project Co-ordination and commercial management of orders

Person Specification:

* Divisional sales against a Divisional target for ASRS, AGV, WMS and all other aspects of the product portfolio

* Personal responsibility to have a detailed knowledge of the Automated Material handling market

* Personal responsibility to secure a detailed knowledge of competitor systems and structure

* Detailed knowledge of all products and engage in future product development strategies and initiatives

* Work with Business Development projects to maintain a detailed activity, prospect and forecast pipeline

* Direct responsibility for concept and design development of solutions

* Prepare sales proposals and presentations

* Evaluate complex data sets for the use in simulation and system design

* Prepare detailed technical specifications for handover to technical / project management roles

* Liaison with client representatives at the highest levels

* Ensure sales are met in line with guidelines and processes (including T&Cs)
