Air Conditioning Supervisor
A new Air Conditioning Supervisor is needed for our HVAC and M&E business. The new Supervisor will be expected to work as required, to help build our service coverage in the Midlands & central areas. With growth will consider an Engineer to join in these areas. Supervisor will be assigned chosen contracts to manage and will be required to develop customer relations with client contact.
Ideally the candidate will be based in or around the Birmingham, to Rugby, or Northampton, or even Milton Keynes (ie along the M1 corridor) to work across these counties (the work will go down to Euston station in London).
A large amount of our work is on railway contracts. Therefore training & competencies will be given for the railway working as this is essential. Sites include signal centres, data centres, maintenance depots, traincare depots, stations, remote relay rooms trackside.
The Role:
The work includes air conditioning, ventilation and general mechanical. Therefore Air Conditioning Engineers should have practical experience & knowledge of working on machines such as Splits, VRVs, small chillers, AHU’s LTHW and chilled. Engineers will be given responsibility to assist the Director in overseeing installations/project works and service operations, ensuring staff are set up and working safely. Quality and attention to detail are the KEY things our business looks for!!

This role requires a MINIMUM of city and guilds NVQ level 2/part 2 in Commercial Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, plus F-GAS. Other competencies like SMSTS, SSSTS, PASMA & IPAF are an advantage.
Along with being hands on when necessary, the HVAC Supervisor is required to;
Assist management in direct oversight of service department’s daily operation.
Participate in assigned long-term contracts, programs and projects.
Involved in the work delivery department’s routine operations by handling repairs/installs and assisting management with administrative duties.
Prepare quotations for a variety of work and prepare relevant safety documentation for engineers as required.
Develop and maintain effective working relations with Service director and work closely with the service director toward common goals.
Work to the company’s management and quality systems.
Advise on equipment, materials and subcontract resources.
Carry out certain tasks with targets to satisfy certain key performance indicators.
Supervisor will advise on procedures and identify where change could enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
Assist in assigning, training & developing the engineering team.
Work closely with the administration team to ensure quotations are prepared and submitted to the clients promptly.
Package –
We supply a vehicle with fuel card. Minimal personal use, tracked, speed limited.
We supply a Samsung galaxy note smart phone for calls and our electronic job system. This role would also
provide a laptop.
Salary is dependent on the candidate and their experience, paying £35K & above plus overtime.
20 days holiday, plus statutory. Working hours are door to door minus 1.5 hours. (half an hour unpaid each way travel, and half an hour unpaid lunch) minimum day door to door is 9.5 hours.
Overtime is paid at time and a half, or double time for nights/bank holidays. Overtime is typically worked by all engineers but our fatigue management policies do not allow us to exceed 12 hour shifts except for emergencies.
On call rota is 1 week every 10 weeks approx. This is paid at £125 for the week regardless of any call outs. Minimum call out is x4 hours.
All specialist refrigeration tools are supplied, but hand tools are the responsibility of the candidate. Hand tools include thermometer and multimeter with amp clamp.
Drugs and alcohol testing plus railway medical would be required before any official job offer given
