Allstaff Recruitment are currently seeking a Sustaining Engineer based in Milton Keynes for a well-established electronics manufacturing company.

The role…

As the Sustaining Engineer your primary function will be to maintain the existing product portfolio by redesigning legacy products as necessary to ensure production continues smoothly.  This will involve the following important duties:

Provide post development technical support to our manufacturing facilities in China and the UK.
Redesign legacy products to resolve design issues.
Conduct detailed failure analysis to identify the root cause of the failure, whether electrical or mechanical.
Work with the Quality department to highlight common faults and redesign the product before failure occurs.
Solve complex technical/commercial issues, working closely with all engineering disciplines within the company.
Put corrective actions in place to improve quality and reliability
The experience required…

As a successful Sustaining Engineer, you will ideally have worked in the power electronics industry and have the following:

Experience in a similar role
Formal qualification equivalent to UK degree level in electronics or related discipline. Candidates with equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum of two/three years' experience in analogue electronics, preferably power electronics.
Have a sound theoretical understanding of analogue electronics.
Have experience of conducting laboratory based testing and have an understanding of measurement techniques.
Be willing to travel worldwide as required.
Have knowledge of manufacturing methods used in the electronics industry.
