Are you an experienced SHEQ professional with a proven background working on multiple, concurrent, large scale construction projects?

Our client has a fantastic opportunity to join their team based in the midlands in a well-established and proven business, working with some of the biggest companies within the electricity distribution sector.

Salary: Competitive day rate (outside of IR35)

SHEQ Advisor/Lead Duties:

Accountable for health and safety performance with the team
Create, Implement and, monitor health and safety policies
Ensure risk assessments are carried out, and safe systems of work in place.
Ensure safe working procedures are implemented
Develop a positive health and safety culture
Fully conversant with CDM, and its requirements
Conduct regular proactive safety inspections on staff and contractors
Provide guidance and advice to management
Assess competence of contractors and feed into tender creation and review process
Lead accident and incident investigation and reporting
Respond to health and safety related complaints or issues
Include health and safety in business discussions
Actively support an assist wider project team
SHEQ Advisor/Lead Requirements:

Proven experience in an SHEQ position within the construction sector
Experience within the Electrical Transmission or Distribution sector would be beneficial
Vast experience of CDM Regulations from implementation to contractor compliance
Exposure to complex construction projects, with multiple stakeholders
Experience of environmental and sustainability data reporting
An advocate, promoter, and driver of positive change
Excellent IT skills – specifically databases and Excel
Confident with an ability to communicate at all levels in a fast-paced environment
Good team player, can do attitude and a passion for making a difference
NEBOSH Qualified
You will be based at our client’s depot in West Midlands, however travel to around the Midlands area to construction sites will be required
SHEQ Advisor/Lead Benefits:

Very competitive Day rate and outside of IR35
Full Time hours
Initial 12-month contract, this can be extended for right candidate.
