Critical Power Supplies Ltd was formed in 2010 and is a well-established firm involved in the supply of Critical Power and Power Solutions for a variety of private and public sector organisations including hospitals, police, commercial interiors including retail, office, trading floor and data centres. We have an excellent opportunity for a Sales Engineer to join our team at an exciting time.
The team has worked hard since the start of Covid-19 like many organisations to find our new place in this brave new world and we are going from strength to strength built on a foundation of closer co-operation between our customers, employees and suppliers, taking everyone in the same direction on this new exciting journey as we all work together to overcome the challenges we are facing.
We are a small friendly business based just outside of Thame and embrace remote working and company premises based work. We work very closely as a team across our workload, client base and we all demonstrate great flexibility in helping out in various roles as the needs flex in different areas of the business. We pride ourselves in the level and quality of our clients’ experience and are now looking to boost our customer sales team experience with a new additional role.
JOB OUTLINE

Maintain a pipeline of prospective sales
Work as part of a team
Deal with outbound and inbound sales calls
RESPONSBILITIES
Agree with the Sales Engineer Team Lead and the MD an annual Sales Plan of how you intend to hit target – this to be submitted and agreed by DATE each year
Achieve the yearly, quarterly and monthly sales targets set by the MD and Sales Engineer Team Lead
Achieve the targets set by the Sales Engineer Team Lead for attach rates and maintenance contracts
Achieve greater than a 10% conversion rate on quotations each month
Forecast the potentials, prospects, confirmed and orders each week.
Report sales data to the Sales Engineer Team Lead and Directors
Keep the CRM system up to date
Provide written feedback monthly (usually to be discussed at the Sales Team Meetings) against your Sales Plan
Attend arranged Internal Sales Meetings
Provide cover for other Sales Engineers for absence
Recognise and act on the margin potential of each customer and different products
Request price amendments to the website with MD approval
Handle enquiries allocated from the Web or via live-chat qualifying them before taking action
Handle inbound sales calls either:
direct customers to relevant webpage to place an online order
take order and manual payments over the phone if authorised to do so
redirect to sales engineer who can take manual payments buy phone
send quotes to customers by email
send a proposal for projects to customers by email
Make outbound calls when scheduled by the Sales Team Lead or MD and meet the minimum time requirement for outbound sales calls set by the Sales Engineer Team Lead each month
Add new customers to the CRM allocating them to your account
Add quotes and proposals to your pipeline
Quote for projects taking into account lead times on supplies and Engineer’s availability
Follow up quotes by email or phone within two weeks – manage the order to point of invoice
Maintain communication with regular and repeat customers managing their orders
Follow up proposals by email or phone within two weeks and coordinate next steps which may include a site visit and ensuring they have a budget and authority and need
Attend site visits
Coordinate with Project Manager or sub-contractors to arrange Engineers to attend site visits
Involve the Managing Director as necessary in meetings with qualified prospective customers
Take responsibility and appropriate action for the control of costs
Negotiate terms with customers with the MD or FD approval
Send credit account form to customer and forward completed forms to the FD
Process customer sales orders accurately so that the Administrator and Project Manager can fulfil the order
Liaise with Project Manager as necessary once Projects are started
Attend exhibitions to represent CPS
Undertake digital marketing or social media activities as requested by the MD
Comply with all GDPR confidentiality and data security requirements and report any potential issues or breaches to the MD
Be responsible for your own Health and Safety and report any potential issues to the MD
Any other reasonable task as requested by a Manager or Director of the business.
