bp pulse is looking for a Legal Counsel to join the business on an initial 12 month contract with opportunity for extension.

This is a standalone role with bp pulse with a reporting line into bp pulse’s Lead Counsel and the group legal function. You will work within a friendly, agile, dynamic and fast paced business and be given a high degree of autonomy allowing you to make a great impact and enable change within bp pulse and the wider group.

You will have the opportunity to:

* have direct exposure to a wide variety of clients including serial entrepreneurs and owner managed businesses

* liaise with all internal business teams including the executive team, HR, finance, external affairs and business development and counselling the business partners on a wide range of legal, commercial, regulatory and risk related matters

* manage relationships and accounts with multiple external legal services providers and our company secretary.

As part of the key accountabilities for the role, you will be a trusted adviser to the business providing a wide range of legal advice and support according to the needs of existing business and new projects and ventures, such as:

* Drafting, negotiating, analysing and interpreting various forms of commercial contracts relating to sales and business development, infrastructure and investment, energy, technology development and intellectual property, outsourcing, marketing, PR, venturing agreements (including joint ventures), mergers and acquisitions

* Advising on regulatory compliance and governance matters, liaising with relevant specialists within the business and bp group – the key compliance areas being EV charging regulation and standards, anti bribery and corruption, competition and anti-trust

* Advising on optimal structures to support the businesses’ trading arrangements and growth strategy

* Advising on legal issues relating to operational risk, product quality/quantity/compliance, health and safety and customer claims
