Field Service Electrician – EV Sector
The Company:
Focus Group Recruitment have the pleasure with working alongside global leading electric charging business. Our client are the UK leaders within their sector. Over the course of 10 years, our customer has established itself as the market leader in electric vehicle charging, providing solutions for EV drivers to charge at home, at work and on the road. On their mission to make charging fast and hassle-free, their charging points have been used over 30 million times to enable around 200 million miles of zero tailpipe emission driving.
The Role:
The overall purpose of the Field Service Engineer (FSE hereinafter) includes tasks but not limited to installation, service and repair commercial Electric Vehicle charging points across the UK’s largest EV charging network. Our client will play a critical role in supporting their ambition to achieve “Net Zero by 2050”. We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic FSE to make this happen.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
* Electrical qualifications essential
* MUST HAVE a minimum Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation (or Equivalent)
* PCB analysis experience advantageous
* Field service engineering experience including but not limited to fault finding and diagnosis
* Electro-mechanical repairs knowledge and experience
* To carry out risk assessments and adhere to method statements
* To ensure installations are correctly identified by type
* To ensure electrical installations are compliant to Electrical regulations
* To ensure current processes established on site are adhered to.
Qualifications
* JIB recognised UK competency-based qualification (electrotechnical Level 3 NVQ or a formal UK electrotechnical apprenticeship)
* IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualified (BS7671:2018)
* 2919-1 Level 3 in Domestic, Commercial & Industrial Electric Vehicle Charging equipment installation or equivalent.
* ECS card (Maintenance Electrician or electrician)
* Driving License (Max 6 points)
Knowledge & Experience:
* Qualified electrician with electrical maintenance experience
* Customer / consumer focused
* Understanding of electrical certification and submission
* Strong communication skills
* Knowledge of distribution boards/ power cabinets
* Experience dealing with AC/DC voltage safely and isolation procedures
* High level organisational and planning skills, effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year’s Commercial experience as a Field Service Engineer with excellent communication skills with all the necessary attributes above. This is a great opportunity for an Electrical Field Service Engineer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team.
The Location:
The role is based in Milton Keynes however you will be travelling to customer sites within an hour radius of Milton Keynes so MUST be based within a commutable distance.
Salary:
Up to £32k plus great benefits including contributed pension scheme, • 27 days hols + 8 days bank holidays, alongside this the company’s benefits package
