The OU is looking to recruit an Electronics Engineer to join them 09/11/2020 for approximately 3 months, working a 37 hour week and paying between £17.57ph-£20.96ph, depending on experience.
The Open University's STEM Faculty is looking for an Electronics Engineer to assist with the design and build specialist analogue and digital based electronics already under development in their teaching program. This may also involve development of firmware/software for use with this equipment, depending on experience. You may also advise and assist research students and research/academic staff in the realisation of goals. The role will also involve some fault-finding and repair of equipment built in-house and commercial equipment. You will be required to complete tasks vital to research and teaching business with minimal supervision.
The ideal candidate will be educated to at least HNC or HND, or equivalent, in an Electronics subject and have previous experience using your electronics skills in a professional environment.
Skills required are of an electrical and electronics design and build function. Knowledge of designing, fault finding and repair of computer, microprocessor controlled circuits including embedded controllers is essential. Knowledge of radio-frequency and high-voltage circuits will be an advantage but not essential.
Work will be primarily in the STEM Electronics Facility and Open Engineering Laboratories.
