MPI are looking for a Permanent Electrical Test and Quality Engineer for our client based in Milton Keynes.
Experience
Candidates must have a degree or equivalent in electrical or electronic engineering and experience testing electrical equipment in order to apply for this role.
You will be inspecting and testing a range of electrical switchgear, more complex motor starters and bespoke and hybrid electrical solutions.
The work involves initial inspection and wiring integrity checks, followed by electrical safety tests and then functional tests. The equipment is also varied and whilst we have test procedures for most products you may be required to update these or design and create new test plans. You will also be responsible for quality improvements within the test area, the test processes and the procedures as well as assisting with improvements of our quality management system.
The person
Our client requires someone with experience inspecting and testing electrical equipment, who is focused on quality improvement, is meticulous and thorough, has a great work ethic and a positive attitude.
You must also be articulate and have good communication and IT skills as many of our test procedures need updating and re-writing and this will be part of the role.
We manufacture specialist equipment in small quantities and do not operate any automated test equipment, we therefore require people used to manually testing the operation and performance of devices and who are experienced in inspecting mechanical and electrical assemblies for accuracy and build quality.
Good communications, flexibility, and a preparedness to learn new skills are important. You must be self-motivated and able to work under your own initiative but also to perform as part of a team and to build to high standards whilst under pressure to meet deadlines.
The role
* Inspecting and verifying the correct assembly of our products
* Testing all types of electrical and mechanical products following existing test procedures
* Designing and writing new test procedures based on current and historic data
* Improving quality documentation within test and elsewhere in the business
