bp pulse is planning to grow significantly in the UK over the next 10 years.
As part of bp’s expanded commitment to ‘future mobility’, bp pulse is developing ambitious expansion plans. The business is maturing from early stage into ‘scale-up territory’ and is looking to adapt its’ approach and practices on this basis.
The role-holder will drive this change and work with the Pulse wider leadership team to build out the organisational growth structure; develop fit for purpose governance/processes; and co-create the transformation agenda (systems/tools/process/culture) with the team.
Strategic
* Work with the Pulse wider leadership team to assess and develop the transformation agenda & strategy to enable bp Pulse to move from ‘start-up’ to ‘scale-up’.
* Develop and deliver the roadmap and multiple projects to underpin the strategy.
* Develop and maintain the frame of a business case for an overall programme; and prioritisation of projects that are in service of delivering the financial control vision for bp.
Operational
* Work with the full Pulse team and wider bp business to identify and prioritise opportunities that will deliver sustainable value to the business.
* Define and scope transformation projects, through collaboration with the relevant stakeholders, to create alignment, sponsorship and agreed targets/benefits.
* Support transformation projects (either directly, or through collaboration with the Product Owner), and lead agreed activities to deliver defined benefits.
* Work closely with the Pulse Chief Programme Officer, CFO and Head of People to ensure that appropriate levels of performance management are in place, in order to provide effective governance and risk management.
* Working alongside the wider leadership team to implement improvements identified through the 2021 internal audit.
* Champion simplification, modernisation, and Agile/Pulse Mindsets in their own ways of working.
* Act as an ambassador for modernisation and transformation (M&T), providing equal challenge and support to the business to encourage wider adoption of new ways of working in order to accelerate change and deliver value.
* Ensure transformation delivery is embedded in the monthly, quarterly, annual, and 3-year plans, and co-develop project implementation plans.
* Ensure cross-business and cross-project dependencies are highlighted and addressed.
* Demonstrate and champion bp values & behaviours of safety, respect, excellence, courage and one team.
Dimensions:
* The successful post-holder will work with the CEO, Chief Programme Office, CFO, and broader leadership teams to scope out the activity and breadth of the transformation.
* Work with the Head of People to develop the people strategy that will enable bp pulse to achieve its’ goals.
* The post-holder will need to develop and bring in a team to work on the transformation both from existing teams (Agile/sprint squads) and also recruit dedicated resources (project/full-time) to drive forward the plan.
Key Relationships:
* Will work heavily with the CEO, Chief Programme Officer, CFO and Head of People and the broader Pulse teams.
* Postholder needs to have the breadth of skills to influence and engage the whole Pulse organisation across manufacturing, customer care, operations, through to digital, product, sales, commercial, business development and cross-functional teams.
* Postholder will also need to engage and catalyse support & expertise from broader bp teams (eg talent, change management, org design, legal and colleagues within future mobility & solutions) to help develop and drive forward the programmes
