Graduate Teaching Assistant – Buckinghamshire Secondary Schools

If you are looking to kick start your career in education then this could be the perfect role for you!

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant you will be working closely with small groups of students or 1:1 with any pupils who are struggling in a larger classroom environment. You will be expected to use verbal and non-verbal de-escalation techniques for dealing with challenging behaviour or struggling pupils. Have a strong focus on teamwork and communication, to foster supportive working practices and recognise the needs of distressed individuals

Teaching Assistant Criteria:

Graduate or qualification in child care/education
Previous experience working with children in a TA environment
Good education background (GCSE's in Maths and English)

Specialist Assistants (Specialism in curriculum subjects or one of the four broad areas of need: Communication and Interaction, Cognition and Learning, Social, Emotional and Mental Health, Sensory and Physical needs)

High Level Teaching Assistants

English as an Additional Language Specialists

Visual Impairment Specialists.

Experience:

Previous experience could include childcare, tutoring, in a sport setting, charity or in a similar classroom setting. However, this is not crucial – Graduates with no experience are still welcome.

A strong educational background is required for these roles including GCSE's in Maths and English (C or above).
