Due to the current situation and schools having limited numbers , this role is likely to start in Easter 2021 . However, this is subject to change.
As a teaching assistant, you will be required to support students on a one to one basis which you will be required to create a setting that will inspire each child to become self-confident, independent life-learners who can confidently express themselves and make their own choice, whilst safeguarding, their happiness and safety. Our school we are recruiting for is Outstanding at catering students from ages of 4 and 19 years who have complex learning difficulties such as autism, cerebral palsy, downs syndrome and social difficulties.
We are looking for individuals who are committed to achieving students potential and developing each students learning & social needs.
This is a full-time support position up until the end of the 2021 academic school year, with a competitive salary.
Responsibilities:
• Differentiating the students work to meet the individual needs of the students
• Working with the teacher to assess pupil's levels and ability.
• Ensuring the schools ethos and policies are being implemented.
• Supporting students with work set by the class teacher.
For this role, you will have:
• Experience working in specialist schools
• Previous support work within a school or other child related experience
• Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour
• Happy to work one to one and small group work
• An enthusiastic and friendly, yet firm approach
