Education and Training provided – Psychology & Criminology Graduates Wanted for this LSA role in Milton Keynes – Autism & Asperger's Syndrome in MK – You will be working with children, through their Autism, who have low tolerance levels for stress. You will see the difference that autism can have on male and female student.
This LSA role will in a specialist Autistic school for children 7-19, all who have carrying degrees of autism, Asperger's and adjacent mental health challenges. The students range from those who are cognitively very capable, academically, to children with a very low level of learning and who will require personal care. It's a good example of how diverse and the complicated role Autism plays in society, the children struggle with empathy and have low levels of stress tolerance.
Can you make the student's life just that little bit better today, keep them safe and demonstrate the value of an education to the students?
In addition, can you keep the children safe? You will get a great deal of SEN and safeguarding training, MAPA Training included.
As an aspiring OT or Speech and Language Therapist, over the course of 10 years of qualification and solidifying of interest, you need to qualify and disqualify areas of genuine interest and where your skills need to be enhanced. .

**7-17, Primary, and Secondary aged students all with EHCPs with Autism, OCD, verbal and non-verbal children to children with acute social anxiety
**Physical work combined with being pragmatic, making as much academic progress as each child's context allows
**Some anti-social behaviour that will take getting use to, this is all part of the role when aiding society's most vulnerable children. All training and support provided by the school with their excellent training system
**Number of Therapies introduced and holistic processes, a little progress is a cause for success here
** Pathological Demand Avoidance and Pervasive developmental disorder
**A Real focus on Early Years and Non-Verbal students, holistic techniques to gain engagement
**Secondary aged students with levels of learning well below their stated age
**Positive engagement, giving the children a sense of acceptance, talking therapy will not always work here so different approaches required
**Giving the students objectives and as much independence as is possible, especially if the students are in assisted
It is vital you are sincere about your objectives and know why you want to work in the mental health sector and provide the best possible foundations for vulnerable students who have suffered several traumas and have been tragically let down by the adult world. These roles are not easy and it takes months, years to build foundations with vulnerable students and young learners.
