Physical Disability Teacher- Buckinghamshire
Our Physical Disabilities Team (PDT), focus on better learning outcomes for children and young people. The Physical Disabilities Team is an advisory service, working with families and schools across Buckinghamshire, effectively delivering the statutory responsibilities and strategic priorities in the Education and Schools policy. Physical Disabilities Team support the educational and developmental needs of children and young people with physical disabilities. Physical Disabilities Team aims to ensure that reasonable adjustments, inclusion support and the Equalities Act are carried out. Central to the Physical Disabilities Team is partnership working with families and schools, to provide a coordinated and holistic multi-agency approach to meet the needs of children and young people with physical disabilities.
Salary: Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience
Working Pattern:4.5 days per week
Contract: Fixed term till July 2022 with option to extend
Location: This is a countywide role
You must be able to travel throughout the county including to locations that are not always accessible by public transport. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Physical Disabilities Team (PDT) as a Specialist Advisory Teacher of Physical Disability. The Physical Disabilities Team (PDT) is highly regarded by parents and schools and we are looking for an exceptional member of staff to join our team. This is an ideal opportunity to develop existing skills and knowledge and could be an ideal secondment opportunity for teaching professionals currently working with children and young people looking to get into a role working with students that have physical disabilities. Key to this role is delivering co-ordinated support to educational settings, promoting inclusion and enabling access to the National Curriculum. You will have strong personal values and emotional resilience plus the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and families.
You should have good IT and organisation skills and be able to work flexibly.
Key Skills:
A secure knowledge and understanding of the developmental and learning needs of children and young people with physical disabilities from 0-19.
Ability to assess or learn on specialist equipment and accessibility in an educational setting.
Ability to plan and organise own work independently and to work as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to provide clear and concise advice and information to a range of audiences in a sensitive and purposeful way.
Ability to think creatively, problem solve and work flexibly.
Ability to form professional working relationships with others and promote a positive work culture.
