Are you a budding Graduate looking to get into Teaching? Are you seeking your first step into a permanent opportunity in a Secondary School and gain classroom based experience?
Teaching Personnel are supporting an Ofsted 'Good' Secondary School in the South Milton Keynes area, to recruit a budding, enthusiastic and professional Graduate who is seeking to begin their career in Teaching. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to become a Cover Supervisor at this Secondary Academy long-term, where they can support you with CPD and classroom based experience with the view to teach in the school after Cover Supervising for 1 year.
We support you throughout this process as part of our Future Teachers Programme.
What is a Cover Supervisor?
Cover supervisors are suitably trained school staff who supervise pupils carrying out pre-prepared exercises when teaching staff are on short-term absence. The cover supervisor’s main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set.
This role can typical involve:
Supervising / covering lessons already planned and set for a class
Managing pupil behaviour for any class you are assigned cover with and implement schools behaviour policy if required
Be flexible and able to provide cover across a range of subjects and key stages
Be able to provide 1:1 support and answer questions about processes and procedures in line with the school policy
Keeping pupils on task to complete their work

The school day usually commences from 08:30am until 15:20pm, it is essential that you are available during these hours for this role to be suitable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
