Experienced Assistant Accountant for temp to perm opportunity (term time only)

Working as part of the wider finance team you will support a small number of schools in achieving its aims and objectives, by managing the finances, providing the most effective and efficient service.

As the Finance Officer you will maintain effective and accurate accounts for the respective schools, maintaining and inputting data on to PS Financials and other reporting systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide advice in relation to financial policy and long-term strategy to the Governors and Headteacher.
Manage the school's accounting function ensuring its efficient operation.
Preparation of monthly and annual accounts for audit. Involves use of PSF and BPS – Orovia systems.
Prepare claims for reimbursement of purchases.
Maintain Assets Register.
Prepare monthly payroll information & liaison with 3rd party provider.
Monthly financial reporting and production of monthly accounts
Bank reconciliation
Preparation of monthly and annual accounts for audit.

Your will be an experienced Finance Officer / Assistant Accountant AAT, part-qualified or qualified by experience with excellent systems skills (PS Financials and Orovia highly desirable). Previous experience of working in a school environment is an advantage but not essential.

This ideally a temporary to permanent opportunity and needs someone who is available at short notice as they would ideally like to have a handover period.

Some travel across schools is expected but not extensive.
