Electrical Installations Lecturer
Based in Milton Keynes
Salary up to £35K
Are you experienced in electrical installation and looking for a career change? Do you have any experience in teaching or mentoring?
Our client, a further education provider based in Milton Keynes, are looking for an experienced, adaptable Electrician to join their team as course Team Leader. The right candidate will have significant experience working within the electrical industry, and the ability to inspire and support student ambitions and will be responsible for leading staff and developing a responsive relevant curriculum that will meet and exceed the needs of learners.
Please note in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, this position will therefore undergo a thorough on boarding process to include DBS.
Role Responsibilities:
* Create an outstanding student and apprenticeship experience
* Act as a course team leader for designated courses, leading staff and securing performance targets.
* Work with the managers and curriculum teams, to develop a responsive and relevant curriculum offer that meets the changing needs of our students
* Work with individual students to help them to explore and understand their ambitions and take practical steps towards securing them.
* Deliver a stimulating blend of learning opportunities, making effective use of technology both within the classroom and via online and independent learning.
* Promote high standards of assessment design, marking and feedback across all of the course team.
* Coordinate IQA and related EQA activity.
* Provide both academic and pastoral support for our students.
* Engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders to maximise opportunities for employer engagement in the learning process.
* Attend appropriate professional development to meet the needs of the role.
* Maintain current knowledge of funding regimes, awarding body requirements and changes to qualification structures and education policy.
* Be aware of Regulations, Strategy, and Objectives to work together to proactively advance Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and support the challenging of racism, prejudice and inequality, wherever it is found.
Person Specification:
* A full teaching qualification (DTTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed) or willing to work towards is essential.
* Significant experience of working within the electrical industry and an Electrotechnical qualification or equivalent is essential.
* Experience of working with students/ learners who may have little experience of education and training
* The ability to plan, communicate and problem solve effectively as well as being able to motivate self and others.
* Knowledge of current curriculum and accreditation developments within Further Education and specific subject area(s).
* Ability to teach creatively, adapting to the needs of a variety of learners.
* Good level of IT literacy and willing to develop further.
