Career Advisor

An exciting position has become available for a full time Career Advisor to join a friendly team based in Milton Keynes. The salary will be £21,500- £25,000 per year depending on experience.  This role is about inspiring students, parents and teachers to consider different options on leaving school by providing impartial information in presentations and workshop alongside employer encounters.  

This is a high energy, motivating position where you will travel, visiting education establishments across the South East Midlands to inform the next generation as they make important decisions about the right ladder for their careers.  This position is new and will help you further develop your career with full training given. The role requires you to be positive and professional in your approach, always energetic, innovative, adaptable and looking for a challenge.

Role Requirements

Level 3 or above qualification
FULL DBS check required
Passionate about providing high quality information, advice and guidance
Confident speaking to students, parents, teachers and stakeholders
Confident speaking to students, parents, teachers and stakeholders
Overnight travel will in some instance be required
Previous experience as an administrator and calendar management
Role Responsibilities

Engaging with the SMEs in Derby City to raise awareness of the business imperative of working with local schools and colleges to build a talent pipeline of future employees.
Attendance at Marketing Derby Bondholders Networking events and a close working relationship with the marketing team to promote activity
Involvement of the Federation of Small Businesses
Use of other local business networks e.g. Richmond Village Business Network, Business Doctors, Derby Business Club
Marketing campaign through Derby Telegraph & Radio Derby
A close working relationship with D2N2 Growth Hub manager in Derby City
Sector specific events – link with East Midlands Chamber of Commerce e.g Food & Drink Forum, HR Forum, Construction and Engineering Forums
Supply chains of Cornerstone Employers and Enterprise Adviser Network
The key focus of the messaging will be to encourage SMEs to invest in the skills of the future workforce.
This programme would work collaboratively with Enterprise Coordinators, Enterprise Advisers and School Careers Leaders in the City and the ASK programme.
Providing free objective information about employability from an employer’s perspective.
