Children's After School Manager Key Responsibilities
Operational
• Supporting the daily operations of the studio and overseeing when necessary.
• Ensure timely set up and packing up of the studio.
• Ensuring the studio is a fun and safe learning environment for our ninjas.
• Ensuring all health & safety measures are always maintained in the dojo.
• Uphold corporate standards with respect to studio cleanliness & operations.
• Ability to exercise agile thinking and be perceptive to studio dynamics, resolving problems quickly and in a logical manner.
• Report weekly to executive team on progress, operational issues, and productivity within the dojo.
• Ensure all systems are kept up to date.
• Ensure to run birthday reports and hand out birthday cards to ninjas as required.
• Belt up ninjas and present certifications.
• Ensure all stationery and stock/inventory is up to date.
• Keep up-to-date of the hours the ninjas have outstanding.
• Design and organise camps for the studio for the holiday periods.
• Schedule and organise Parents’ Night Out event.
• Junior programme to be designed and ensure effective delivery of programme –
Sales
• Following up on leads.
• Scheduling tours/taster sessions & close deals.
• Re-book tasters and follow up non-attendance.
Marketing
• Ensure leaflets/marketing materials are visible or distributed from the Studio.
• Update emails to existing staff and leads on new deals and promotions within the studio.
• Work closely with the Marketing Lead to ensure all marketing activity is carried out for the studio.
HR/Staff
• Engaging and overseeing Senseis to ensure team requirements/rota are met.
• Conduct 1:1’s with staff and update owners of any issues, or requests of shift changes.
• Ensure staff are up to date with their training.
• Work with the HR Lead and directors to ensure all recruitment requirements for the studio is adhered to.
Customer Services
• Working with parents to understand and define children’s learning needs.
• Engaging with children and their families in the studio.
• Ensuring that parents understand how their child is progressing.
• Ensure all emails are responded to in a timely manner and resolutions to problems and issues are reached.
• Keep a track on satisfaction surveys and report back findings to the owners as well as follow up with the customers if there are any concerns.
Children's After School Manager Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
• You will need to have a fun, energetic and ‘can-do’ attitude, with the following essential skills or experience:
• A passion for Technology and STEM.
• A passion for working with and developing children.
• A proven work history with children aged 5 and up, and a keen enthusiasm for working with kids or working within an educational establishment.
• Must be personable with customers and have excellent communication skills.
• A keen team player with the ability to bring the best out in others.
• Familiarity with technology, Microsoft suite, social media, office equipment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and enjoy adapting to change.
• Knowledge of business operations, sales, and team leadership.
• Pro-active and able to resolve operational problems in a logical manner.
• Pays attention to detail and deadlines – In respect of the customers -i.e., missed payments, ninja birthdays etc.
Desirable:
• Not a must, but ideally you will also have some experience in:
• Special education needs training or work experience.
• Working with the general public (retail or other customer facing roles).
• Educated in a Coding or Technology related subject.
Hours: 30-40 hours per week
Schedule: Operational hours: Tues-Thurs: 4pm to 6:30pm – onsite
• Management hours before sessions commence – TBC – Flexible.
• Saturdays: 9:30am to 2pm – onsite
• Holiday Camps and Other Events– timings dependent on Camps and facilities on offer
Salary: £22,000-£24,000 plus Employee Incentive Scheme
