Working for a Milton Keynes Branch of a leading specialist distributor as a Transport Planner.

Job Purpose

To efficiently coordinate and control all the inbound logistics to the project site and to complete processes such as KPI and administration of route planning and reporting, whilst building and maintaining strong, successful working relationships with the customer and sub-contractors. Point of contact for Drivers when the Transport Supervisor is absent. Ensure Drivers dispatch on time and in accordance with Transport and Company legislation.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required

Awareness of transport legislation

Awareness of products

Strong regional geographic knowledge

Strong working knowledge on Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Web-based systems.

Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation is essential

Transport legislation knowledge being an advantage

Effective communication both written and verbal

Time management and organisational skills

Assertiveness

Negotiation skills

Ability to work on own initiative and part of a team

Ability to work well under pressure

Strong decision making

Customer relationship management experience is essential

Ability to handle and resolve queries
