Transport Planner – Salary dependent on skills and experience

Shawston have become a vital market leading supplier to both Mechanical Services and Fire Protection contractors and as part of Shawston’s growth and continued expansion plans, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Transport Planner to join the team in our High Wycombe Depot.
Responsibilities & Duties:
·Planning, directing, and controlling the activities of the transport fleet.
·Ensuring planned routes are in line with working time directive (WTD) and drivers’ hours
·Producing optimal transport plans and routes.
·Accurate use of vehicle tracking system, monitoring deliveries, failures and rejections.
·Assisting the Operations Manager to ensure the department runs efficiently and effectively.
·Liaising with customers as required on deliveries and any issues.
·Ensuring the department provides a quality first class service to the customer though careful planning.
·Monitor driver performance and ensure effective management of available resources.
·Maintaining excellent working relationships with drivers, keeping a consistent and accurate flow of communication.
·Full compliance to Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme requirements.
·Ensure driver compliance is in line with current legislation and that all company assets are legal, compliant and operate safely.
·Investigate all driver infringements in line with internal processes.
Candidate Requirements:
The successful candidate must have a proven track record of previous transport planning experience operating at a management level within a busy office environment. Demonstrating excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and will know what customer service excellence looks like.
·Extensive geographical knowledge of London essential.
·Ability to adapt in a changing environment.
·Proactive problem-solving capabilities.
·Knowledge of Transport legislation.
·IT literate – Excel and Word are essential.
·Very good attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
·Punctuality, flexibility, and positivity.
·Able to work to deadlines and meet targets.
·Excellent communication skills.
·Driven and self-motivated.
