We're currently looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated professional to join the site HR team in a capacity of a Training Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity, to lead our Logistics site, in Milton Keynes, working with one of the UK's biggest fashion retailers, with their various training programs.
What is the purpose of the role?
The job holder will be responsible for ensuring the capability of the site is maintained and enhanced by ensuring all mandatory, H&S process and development training is delivered to the highest standard, and that the appropriate interventions are developed to identify talent and provide core skills training that provides superior job performance at all levels.
In this role you are accountable for:
Line Management and development of Operations Trainers to deliver SHE and RASWP training and refreshers across all operations, maintaining the training matrix and planning and delivering Corporate and agency induction.
Contributing to sites HR plan, through the identification of training and development needs identified from individuals PDR and liaising with all Managers.
Working with the site’s SHE Manager to assist with training identified from gaps within the sites H&S framework, and developing systems to monitor annual refresher training and legislative updates.
The development of departmental operational plans for non-managerial roles, by working with all Managers.
To deliver a range of soft and core skills training using MAP (management ability programme) for all champions and above.
An understanding of the Levy process and knowledge of how to organise Apprenticeship training.
Evaluate locally delivered training interventions which meet priority learning needs at team and individual level and result in improved business performance and a team Clipper ethic.
Ensure that all suppliers of agency workers are compliant with Clipper’s standards in regards to on boarding and inducting staff on site.
Providing training for the site training champions, and to conduct regular on the job assessments of all site trainers, to ensure the quality and consistency of the training being delivered is at the correct standard.
Maintain training records
To ensure compliance with the current Equal Opportunities legislation and the Company Equality and Diversity Policy
Identify issues, problems and opportunities, analyse cause and effect, practically solve problems and implement corrective actions in consultation with relevant parties
Experience & Skills –
Previous experience of writing and delivering training materials
Working as part of a team
Managing Own Activity
Training within a Logistics, FMCG or warehousing would be an advantage
Managing teams of people within a training environment
Practical delivery of core and soft skills training to small and large groups
Mandatory training requirements within the logistics industry
Understanding of the training levy
Enthusiasm for lifelong learning
Ability to create a positive learning environment
Strong communication skills including the ability to listen and ask high quality questions.
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage to changing priorities
Manages Challenge in the right way
Good Presentation skills with the ability to engage with an audience at all levels
IT skills / Excel / PowerPoint / Word
