About the role:
We are seeking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner to join the ‘hub’ of our operation. This role will have a high level of contact with customers, drivers and work colleagues and therefore requires excellent communication skills. 

Key Responsibilities:

Working as part of our traffic team, this role will encompass the overall planning of our vehicles, with the prime objective of achieving our customer collection/delivery expectations and utilising vehicle capacity, obtaining backloads where required. 

Ensures vehicles are made available for servicing/MOT as scheduled. 

Plan and provide cover for holidays/absence and manage the driver Saturday working rota.

Ensure trunking trailers are in place as necessary for loading and manage the departure of trunks to ensure they depart site in time to meet hub bookings.

The successful candidate will have excellent geographical knowledge, both locally and nationally, and a strong commercial awareness, in addition to a high level of computer literacy and is fully conversant with transport legislation and driver’s hours’ regulations.
