We’re currently looking for a Shift Operator to join our team on a full-time basis at the Greatmoor EFW plant.

The Role
As a Shift Operator, you will be tasked with delivering safe and efficient production activities at the Greatmoor EFW plant.
Promoting a culture of plant reliability, flexibility and availability, you will aim to achieve high standards of quality, health and environmental performance.
Specifically, your role will involve:
– Ensuring safe and efficient plant operations during steady state, start up, shutdown and emergency situations
– Day-to-day compliance with all aspects of the Environmental Permit
– Carrying out routine plant inspections and adjustments / operations as required
– Carrying out Operational Procedures to ensure that plant is in a fit and correct state
– Responding to first line and breakdown maintenance requests
– Participating in departmental training and development
– Writing/amending site Operational Procedures and implementing changes and improvements
About You
To be considered as a Shift Operator, you will need:
– At least five years’ process industry experience or knowledge of power generation operations and maintenance associated with steam turbines, boilers, balance of plant, electrical generation and distribution up to 33kV, plant control and instrumentation
– At least three years’ experience in power generation industry operations and maintenance, including exposure to heavy process plant maintenance activity
– A good understanding of all HSE aspects, and ideally an IOSH Managing Safety certificate
– An ONC, City and Guilds and/or NVQ Level 3 in craft skills or process and/or thermal production operations, including a good level of practical operational and/or maintenance experience or knowledge
Other organisations may call this role Maintenance Technician, Plant Maintenance Technician, Plant Maintenance Engineer, or Plant Operations Engineer.
