Our client is recruiting for a Night Shift Manager. This role is responsible for managing the manufacturing and production processes, and ensuring all cost, quality, delivery and safety targets are met.
Your role as a Night Shift Manager will be:
• Manage all operations to ensure KPI’s targets and business objectives are met and maintained.
• Provide leadership and direction to all Manufacturing Shift Team Leaders and operatives in all aspects of the manufacturing operation.
• Organise and facilitate daily Team Leader meetings
• Review and develop continuous improvement.
• Responsible for yield improvement & non value-added process reduction.
• Create innovative solutions to problems and opportunities to increase productivity.
• Work alongside the other 3 Manufacturing Shift Managers to ensure ‘4 shift manufacturing consistency’, correct manning levels, holiday cover where applicable and identify cross functional training needs for development of all shop floor staff and Team Leaders, completing training records to the required standard.
• Develop others to support the site talent and succession plan.
• Ensure appraisals and reviews are effectively carried out with staff
• To ensure all production equipment is maintained and serviced appropriately.
• Record accident information as required, followed by, completing any incident reports, carrying out follow-up investigations
• Ensures compliance to all other HR Policies & Procedures.
To be a successful Night Shift Team Leader you will have:
•At least 5 years’ experience as a Manufacturing Shift Manager or similar position
• At least 5 years’ experience working with a Warehouse / Production / Distribution Management System
• At least 5 years’ warehouse experience in a fast paced, high volume environment
• Preferred: Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree
• Preferred: Six sigma or Lean certification
• Essential: A level / College
• Essential: GCSE Maths, English, science
• Experience in a FMCG environment
• Intermediate level excel
• Experience working in a FMCG environment or any exposure of fast-paced manufacturing operation
• Good knowledge of Continuous improvement & the Lean Principles
• Good awareness of supply chain
• Ability to delegate
• Possess safety qualification preferable IOSH or NEBOSH
• You will also need to be physically fit to undertake this role as it involves moving around the production area.
Your shift pattern as a Night Shift Team Leader will be:
Working 3 shifts on, 4 shifts off with 7 week rolling rota. Your working hours will be 18:00-06:00
