Our client is a market leader within the headwear and sports apparel markets, through continued growth they are looking to recruit a Logistics Lead

Main Aspects of the role are –

* Negotiating and managing freight tenders with suppliers

* Planning and overseeing incoming PO’s

* Planning and analyzing budgets and expenditures

* Tracking CPU for all inbound freight movements, identifying patterns and opportunities for consolidation and improvement

* Resolving complaints and issues regarding the supply chain

* Work closely with Production, Retail and Wholesale teams creating, implementing, and monitoring inbound forecasts

* Oversee regular review meetings with 3rd party freight service providers, hold them to account for service level improvements whilst managing true delivered cost

* Working with all operational departmental teams to ensure efficient freight movements are utilised

* Act as SME for all commodity code related queries across all categories

* Ensuring the team is managing and meeting deadlines in accordance with the company critical path- Seasonal launches, New Product/Brand Launches,

* Manage medium to long term operational improvement projects to support business growth

* Support the execution of the Supply Chain strategy across all divisions

* Challenge the status quo, with new solutions and fresh ideas!

Essential skills

• Demonstrable experience in managing and negotiating with 3PLs and carriers

Previous Logistics Experience

• Be knowledgeable of the regulatory and legal aspects as relating to the economics of Logistics and transportation

• Supervisory or managing a team

• Knowledge of vendor compliance (especially in a Retail environment)

• Up to date knowledge of trends, best practices and market pricing for services relating to logistics

• Knowledge of SAP

• Advanced numeracy skills, agility manipulating data to research trends and build models for planning

• Advanced MS Office skills, including expert level Excel

It would be a huge advantage to have done a logistics role in either retail or the fashion industry
