Our Client is a cabling and connectivity solution provider focused on the ever-evolving needs of data centres.
We currently have an permanant opportunity for Logistics Expeditor
Key responsibilities & activities
Expediting
* Secure shipment dates for all orders placed from internal or external manufacturing sites up to the final point of destination in line with Customer’s needs (direct shipment or via warehouse in UK or NL)
* Identify all and any delays and resolve, working directly with Freight Forwarder and internal Stakeholders
* Decide on the fastest and most cost effective shipment method for goods based on weight, dimensions, cost, customer requirements and other criteria as agreed with the Customer and the Sales Team.
Continuous Expediting Improvements
* Investigate and implement ways to decrease shipping time, actively working with approved Logistics Partners and cross functionally with the Warehouse and Logistics Department
Customer enquiries
* Respond to enquiries from AFL HS EMEA Internal Departments for the best available lead time for inbound or direct shipments to customers and price in an agreed timescale
Communication
* Attend meetings with Program Management Teams and report on the status of all open orders including physical location and relevant dates as required by the team
* Engage with other departments as required, including, but not limited to:
* Purchasing Team and Program Managers – on delivery dates, delays to orders & lead times
* Compliance Team – on Custom clearance matters
* Warehouse & Logistics Team – on inventory and redistribution activities
Experience, knowledge & qualifications
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in Expediting, Supply Chain or Procurement
* Minimum 2 years’ experience working on shipment from the Far East
* Understanding of International Shipping Methods by Air and Sea and relevant regulations
* Understanding of Inco terms
