The Role:
To ensure effective co-ordination of all warehouse related activities, by controlling the workflow between warehouse and transport operations through adherence to the agreed operational processes and procedures to routinely meet the key performance indicators for the Contract with ASDA.
Operations Management:
To control the combined overall output of each operational shift by co-ordinating team leaders and operational activities and effective communication between operations / customer services / and transport by understanding all key operational processes and procedures.
Maintaining “real time” status control of all warehouse related operational activities to ensure the effective flow of goods into, through and out of the warehouse by monitoring the operational team performance of the on-duty shift. Motivating individuals and teams where slippage occurs against expected timelines and milestones and taking preventive action to reduce risks of service failures or re-occurring issues
Reviewing labour requirements with the Shift Manager planning against volumes and activities to produce labour requirements and work schedules to include contingency plans and overtime requirements at known choke points, fluctuations of volumes against forecast and unscheduled events.Customer Management:
To understand the customer ethos and operational priorities and be conversant with the targets contained within the contracts service level agreement and key performance indicators.
To be aware of the customers product range and its impact on receiving, locating and dispatching its product combined with specific transport requirements for the customers – customer base.
Ensuring regular team reviews and on the job status updates are conducted with the shifts team-leaders to ensure they understand the previous 24 hours performance achieved and the coming 24 hours targets.People Management:
To manage and control effective communications and interdepartmental relationships which enhance staff engagement levels acting in line with Clippers code of conduct.
To continue with the development of operational working practices and safe systems of work, and TARs ensuring that realistic training plans and interventions are implemented to ensure the Company is legal and compliant in all key areas of health safety.
To lead by example demonstrating appropriate behaviours and values of Clipper.
Person Specification:
Knowledge of Manhattan would be advantageous
Team Performance, site KPI’s
Ability to work on your own and in a team
Good timekeeping and attendance
Ability to maintain site standards
Strong knowledge and practice of Health and Safety Principles
Flexible with working hours
Good people management skills
Shift – 4 on 4 off Nights + Night Shift allowance
