Want to be an HGV driver?

Thinking of becoming an HGV driver but do not have the funds? HGMS have the perfect position for you. We are recruiting drivers who currently only have their 3.5t (Cat B) licence and wish to progress to obtain their CPC, HGV 2 licence and Lorry Loader qualification which is fully funded and in turn once fully qualified you have the opportunity to work for one of the UK’s leading building distribution company or you can remain working with HGMS.

Initially you will commence your career proving to be a capable 3.5t multi-drop driver (approx. 15 drops per day), you will then progress with the support of our driver training partner apply for your HGV 2 licence and complete the training and obtain your qualification in tandem with obtaining your CPC card and then complete the final step of obtain your Lorry Loader qualification. During this training journey you will have the full access to a training mentor/buddy to support you through all the stages until you fully competent.

REQUIREMENTS

·3.5t licence with a minimum of 6 months’ commercial van delivery driving experience gained within the past year

·No more than 6 points on your licence (No DR's IN's or TT's)

·Physically fit with the ability to off load some heavy items

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

·Multi drop of building, plumbing and bathroom materials with occasional yard and warehouse duties

·Carry out vehicle checks to ensure road worthiness

·Good communication skills with the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
