About The Role
EKFB are currently looking to recruit an Operational Support Control Room Coordinator.
Operational Support’s role is to deliver scalable and holistic logistics, security and support functions to enable construction across Areas C2 and C3 of the of the new HS2 network.
As an Operational Support Control Room Coordinator, you will monitor and intervene to minimise delays and disruption across Areas C2 and C3 caused by problems originating from the road network and areas that fall within the management of Operational Support; Unexploded Ordnance, vehicle breakdowns, road closures etc. You will handle data exchange with Subcontractors and Suppliers, provide information to the Client (HS2) and coordinate resources in response to incidents and demand increases.
We’ll need you to continuously monitor the UK Road Network by obtaining and reviewing information from multiple sources so that appropriate action can be taken. Also, assist in the development of effective response plans from the correct operating procedure for incidents, communicating and response coordination.
It is essential that you collaborate with Subcontractors and other stakeholders to develop the most efficient, effective and sympathetic logistics solutions to support the scheme.
You will be required to provide the conduit for all logistics related data, using smartTOOLS to manage logistics monitoring and analysis, providing innovative insight and solutions. Control and reduce operating costs, providing specialist knowledge relating to the Operational Support Management team.
It’s your responsibility to ensure that the business complies with regulations and update policies and processes when required and maintain records, proving that the vehicle fleet is compliant with regulations. Also to provide advice and guidance to peers and operators on Operational Support issues.
About The Candidate
It is essential for this role that you have previous experience in a similar role within a control room environment.
You must also have experience in one (or more) of the following areas to reinforce the delivery of Operational Support:
Emergency response (Military/Blue Light etc.).
Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) management.
Temporary Traffic Management (TTM).
Resource distribution planning and/or management (Waste, Water, Fuel etc.).
Public transport service planning and/or management.
Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) management.As part of HS2’s commitment to up skilling Operational Support professionals, you will either hold or work towards an appropriate nationally recognised standard endorsed by the Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport, the Institution of Civil Engineers or other relevant professional body.
