Industrial Sales Executive / Field Based Sales
£25,000 – £30,000 (OTE £35,000 – £38,000)
&Car, Fuel Card, Annual bonus
Area: M1 between Milton Keynes and North London
Reports To: Area Sales Manager
Purpose of Job
You will be selling a range of Commercial Vehicles such as water tankers & refuse collection vehicles as well as “add on” products including but not limited to, Industrial Scrubbing & Drying equipment & Warehouse Cleaning Equipment.
Experience
You will need sales experience in this industry to be considered. Product knowledge in this market is key to be successful so you will need to know about commercial vehicles, sweepers, tankers, tipper grabbers, gully tankers, industrial scrubbers etc
Job Role
The job holder reports to the Area Sales Manager and works closely with other divisional and Group Sales Managers and Branch Sales Managers with the objective of expanding the rental business for municipal and warehouse cleaning equipment and maintaining a high level of utilisation for all product ranges. The job holder has regular contact with the Managing Director, Sales Manager and Area Sales Executives to ensure that sales efforts are directed in accordance with Company sales plans.
The job holder acts on their own initiative in researching information on potential customers. This is achieved through sightings, trade publications, historical data, past contracts, industry knowledge, newspapers, business/telephone directories, monitoring existing customer’s usage and own contacts.
Making appointments to visit key potential renters, especially within the municipal sector, keeping accurate sales records of follow up visits and current business situation
Establishing regular contact with decision makers within the city, county and borough councils to optimise every opportunity to win their business through tenders, site surveys and direct sales
Following up enquiries for new rental business
Constantly being aware of opportunities to sell second-hand equipment and negotiating prices accordingly
Visiting recognised suppliers, manufacturers and service agents to encourage more rentals from them as well as liaising on possible joint enquiries
Keeping in close contact with Branch activities with regards to new business or customer complaints and provide assistance where necessary
Maximising the greatest possible return to the Company from selling the Company's products and services to credit rated customers
Ensuring that specific sales targets are achieved within time limits to contribute to the overall sales achievement
Completing all administration accurately and effectively and produce reports for the Sales Manager and Managing Director within given deadlines
Building and maintaining good relationships with Branch staff and customers, informing them of changes and developments in the Company's products and services
Maintaining an awareness of trade and field situations, ensuring appropriate action to meet changing circumstances to ensure the Company maintains its overall high market position
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Must hold a valid UK driving licence
An experienced negotiator in face to face selling with an ability to 'close the sale'
Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of personal presentation
Sound general education and a basic knowledge of sweeper products
