Laboratory Technicians
We are looking for keen , reliable , hardworking candidates who have recently graduated with a Science degree or you might just have finished school with good grades in GCSEs in English , Maths, and you are looking for your first role as a Laboratory Technician and would like to join one of the UK’s well know Science Diagnostic companies as a Laboratory Technician based in Milton Keynes.
There will be no interviews, however, you will be asked to join an Assessment Centre where the company will introduce you to the role, share with you the responsibilities and bring them to life. It’s going to be a fun filled day , lasting approx..3 hours and you will then be scored on your understanding.
There will be a lecture from top scientists and a demo on pipetting in a lab environment and other activities that will be carried out.
You will be advised on the day whether you have passed or failed, so no waiting and wondering if you have got the job! When you have passed, you can then expect to start very quickly, possibly within a week.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Working as part of a team, Laboratory Technicians are required to process samples upon receipt at UK Biocentre in accordance with high quality standards and in line with laboratory processes.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Managing of samples from receipt through to sample processing and storage in line with laboratory processes.
2. Processing samples using Tecans
3. Processing samples on the Kingfisher section
4. Cleaning the laboratory.
5. Report equipment/process issues in accordance with relevant SOPs.
6. Working in accordance with laboratory SOPs and quality standards.
7. Any other reasonable task.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
• Good standard of general education GCSE science, maths, or English (or equivalent).
• Experience of working within a high throughput processing environment.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work and think methodically.
• Pro-active attitude.
• Ability to manage own workload and prioritise tasks.
• Experience of working in a team to achieve an end goal.
• Ability to work 12-hour day/night shift patterns.
• Experience of working to quality management standards.
