Bletchley Park, a vibrant heritage attraction, open daily to visitors, revealing the secrets and telling fascinating stories of the secret British World War Two codebreaking operations has an exciting opportunity for a Development Assistant to join the team and support the day-to-day fundraising administration and operations. Working within the Development team, we are currently looking for an exceptional individual to support the team’s data processes and compliance, database administration and the delivery and growth of our Friends of Bletchley Park and Codebreakers’ Wall campaigns.

As a Development Assistant at Bletchley Park, your responsibilities will include:
Updating Friends’ records, ensuring accurate data inputting on the database.
Confirming and welcoming new Friends, taking payment and sending out welcome packs. This includes direct debit administration, where appropriate.
Being a first point of contact for Friends, coordinating all appropriate correspondence.
Updating Bricks records, ensuring data is collected appropriately and inputted correctly onto the database.
Confirming and welcoming new Brick sponsors.
Coordinating and sending thank you letters, and all appropriate correspondence.
Dealing with enquiries by post, on email and on the phone.
Supporting the Database and Membership Manager on database administration, ensuring use of correct data processes across the Development Team.
Becoming a “super user” on the database and support the rolling out of training across the team.
Developing and implementing the Trust’s database handbook.
Helping deliver development events, including administration and operations.
Attending company meetings, as appropriate.
At Bletchley Park, we are looking for a Development Assistant who has the following skills and experiences:
Demonstrable experience of highest standard of customer service.
A proven track record of using databases, ideally with experience of using a fundraising database if possible.
A keen interest in WW2 history.
Fastidious attention to detail and ability to handle information with complete discretion are essential to this role.
Excellent interpersonal skills, approachable and a willingness to assist others.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly numerate, organised, accurate and able to work at a fast pace.
Effective time management of multiple responsibilities, whilst demonstrating a keen attention to detail.
Strong IT literacy, including use of cloud storage and Microsoft packages (including Excel and Word).
A professional approach, personal integrity, resilience and ability to exercise complete discretion.
Ability to learn new processes and to use digital platforms to innovate practice.
You will be working 37.5 hours per week with some out-of-hours work required. This will be recompensed by time in lieu.
In return, the Development Assistant will receive a salary of £19,500 per annum plus 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), a company pension scheme and a BUPA wellbeing cash plan.
