The role involves working with a UK Rail infrastructure company to modernize their earthworks assets portfolio management system.
The consultant needs to have a strong hold of Geotechnics Engineering incl. science of soil mechanics and engineering knowledge of the interaction with weather and drainage, and requires appreciation of safety risk liabilities and performance impacts of soil/rock cuttings and embankments.
Role will lead in engaging with stakeholders to do digital transformation of existing earthwork asset management systems/processes.
Key Responsibilities
Typical day to day responsibilities for this role will include:
* Co-ordinate with civils business stakeholders to clearly define business problem statements and devise new initiatives
* Work with team to create digital transformation roadmaps linked to initiatives
* Lead stakeholder engagement workshops to articulate business requirements and define product roadmap and drive product implementations
* Redesign business processes for achieving better efficiencies
* Analyse regulatory requirements and changes to recommend new opportunities and enhancements to existing systems and processes
* Drive change management for new initiatives
* Ensure project profitability and on time delivery of assignments
* Train and mentor new team members
* Conduct regular assessments of ongoing projects and ensure deliverables quality
* Participate in Industry workshops to contribute towards new initiatives and concepts
* Drive documentation of concepts which can be translated into technical/system capabilities
* Drive portfolio development on behalf of the customer and ability to write business cases
* Lead business development initiatives from domain consulting and solutioning perspective
Skills and competencies
What are we looking for?
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and competencies:
* Extensive experience in geotechnical design and construction with understanding of soil/rocks (earthworks), underground water, slopes, site and structural conditions, etc.
* Extensive exposure to Rail and asset management is a must; Good experience in managing geotechnical investigations, regional weather patterns inspection, etc.
* Strong understanding of various geological hazards like landslides, soil erosion, etc.; Involved in defining/planning interventions for geotechnical assets
* Strong experience in defining enterprise digital roadmap, strategy and solutions for Geotechnics engineering initiatives
* Decent experience to any Asset management product (Bespoke/COTS) development or enhancement; should have good practical knowledge of ongoing digital technology trends as well
* Exposure to at least 1 digital product development journey from concept-to-launch using Agile methodology
* Strong experience in the following concepts– Business requirements gathering, workflows & process maps creation, digital solution envisioning, high level functional design, UX guidance
* Strong exposure to User acceptance / product acceptance testing process activities
* Good exposure to lead and support business development and account mining initiative to grow group revenue
* Strong foundational skills – communication, stakeholder management, forward planning; should have had ownership for project outcomes
Desirable Skills
Strong experience in shaping portfolios and business cases for the customer
Ability to interact with senior stakeholders at the CXO Levels
Qualifications
BEng./MEng. degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
