Position: Works Manager – Growing Civils Contractor
Location: Initial project located in Buckinghamshire, projects throughout the UK thereafter
Salary: around 50,000 per annum plus benefits to include car allowance or vehicle, matched contributory pension, 25 days holiday (increasing with service), subsistence when required etc
 
A family owned Civil Engineering Contractor has an opportunity for a Works Manager to join their team.  You will initially support in the delivery of a Road project in the Buckinghamshire area, value anticipated to be around £3m.

Your responsibilities will include:

Management of onsite activities and delivery, in conjunction with the Project Manager and Engineers
Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to by briefing all staff on a regular basis throughout project delivery
Management of Supervisors and directly employed Labour on site throughout the delivery phase
Ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the approved RAMS and Daily Briefings, ensuring that safe systems of work are implemented
To inspect and record details of the installation in accordance with inspection / test plans
Management of sub-contractors, when required
Commercial awareness, liaising with Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor in relation to change
Staying on top of Plant, Labour and Material Costs 
To be successful in this role, it is anticipated that you will:

Hold relevant tickets including SSSTS or SMSTS and Health & Safety Qualifications
Have a CSCS Card (Supervisor or Manager)
Have previous experience working for a Civils Contractor on new build Road project
Be able to demonstrate previous experience as a General Foreman or Works Manager
Excellent communication and leadership skills
